If it sounds like an HVAC contractor is offering you a deal that is too good to be true, wait… & ask your self some questions.
1/ What brand name are they using?
When it comes to heating and air conditioning equipment, quality is key. And, quality sometimes means paying a little more upfront.
2/ Are they licensed & insured?
Make sure you are using a professional to install your new system. If the HVAC system is not installed correctly as it is supposed to be, the system can be still running, but not last long.
Also, you should research your contractor before looking at the labor price. Firstly, Make sure they have had positive experiences with past clients on online reviews. I recommend to choose a contractor that is accredited A+ with BBB. Secondly, make sure they are insured. We can’t tell what may happen when they are working their job on your property. Make sure their liability insurance will pay if any injury occurs.
3/ Where do you get equipment from? Online or licensed manufacturer’s dealers.
This way you can be sure that your equipment is not damaged, is covered under warranty, and didn’t “fall off the back of the truck.”
4/ How many years of warranty are they offering?
Be careful. Some contractors offer low price with very limited warranty. And when you call them back for repairs, you will be charged more.
Doing research is an important part of the buying process.
5/ Don’t always go with rock-bottom pricing.
It takes a lot of money to run a professional business. Quality contractors are up-to-date on all licenses and permits, put more time into their work and take continued training to ensure they know how to work with the latest HVAC technology. That’s not to say that all contractors who offer low prices are cutting corners – just be sure they know what they are doing.
Ask questions, get several different quotes and don’t skimp on the installation. Your heating and cooling equipment is an investment in your home comfort, and it is something that will affect your expenses every month. Find out more by scheduling a consultation with us.
